Centrino Gets A Major Upgrade

This Wednesday will be a big day for Intel as it announces what they claim is a "major" update to its Centrino technology for notebook computers. Code-named Sonoma, the new chip has been designed to enable systems to better support video, audio, and games. In addition, Sonoma is expected to support high-quality audio such as Dolby Digital and 7.1 surround sound while its radio component has been upgraded to support a standard to reduce interference from electronic devices such as portable phones and microwave ovens.
